NPower Feasibility Studies

Challenge

NPower, in partnership with C. Robinson Associates, sought to evaluate the feasibility of launching new technology training program locations in Jacksonville, Florida, and Cincinnati, Ohio. The objective was to determine whether each city could effectively support training for underserved young adults (ages 18–26), military veterans, and military spouses, and to assess the potential impact of expanding NPower’s mission in these regions.

Approach

CSS conducted comprehensive feasibility studies for both locations, leading data collection, research synthesis, and visual design of the final presentations and reports. Each study included a demographic and economic assessment, review of transportation access, evaluation of educational alignment, analysis of workforce development opportunities, and examination of the local tech sector’s growth. The Cincinnati study highlighted strong indicators of success, including a growing innovation ecosystem, major IT and healthcare employers, and a sizable target demographic. Jacksonville’s feasibility was supported by its significant military presence, underserved communities with high poverty rates, and emerging tech and logistics sectors.

Outcome

Both cities demonstrated the capacity to support NPower’s programming, with clear evidence of demand, community need, and alignment with local industry growth. The research identified strong opportunities for workforce pipeline development and highlighted areas where NPower could make a meaningful impact on economic mobility.

Proof

The feasibility studies confirmed that Jacksonville and Cincinnati offer compelling expansion opportunities, supported by robust local partnerships, available funding avenues, and favorable long term conditions for building a diverse technology workforce. These findings validated NPower’s potential to successfully extend its mission in both regions.
